What does the project do and how does it work?
PONTON has developed an innovative pilot software based on blockchain technology that simulates future processes for real-time grid management. Gridchain is a contribution to the European standardization of inter-process communication when designing smart grids of the future. As TSO/DSO balancing requirements become more complex due to the continuing trend of generation fragmentation, Gridchain looks to create standards for grid communication protocols to enable smaller participants, like aggregators and generators to be involved in market processes at a high level of reliability and responsiveness.
